Employment Type: Temp to Hire  / Full-Time
Schedule: Monday- Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM 
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour

Overview
The Logistics & Customer Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing logistics, customer service operations, production coordination, and materials management. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective movement of materials while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This position serves as a key cross-functional leader supporting logistics, customer service, production, procurement, and sales. The role requires strong leadership, sound decision-making, and the ability to adapt to changing operational needs while driving continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Support
· Lead, mentor, and support Logistics and Customer Service teams
· Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations
· Ensure adherence to SOPs and company standards
· Review teamwork for accuracy and provide guidance
Logistics & Transportation
· Collaborate with the Logistics Manager to negotiate freight rates and manage carrier relationships
· Oversee inbound and outbound freight operations
· Evaluate carrier performance and maintain KPIs
· Coordinate freight claims, damages, shortages, and returns
· Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping requirements
· Maintain import/export documentation and regulatory compliance as required
Order Entry & Customer Operations
· Process customer orders, including fulfillment, tracking, and invoicing in Chempax
· Create bills of lading and coordinate shipping documentation and labeling
· Maintain accurate customer data, including pricing, product specifications, and regulatory documentation (COA, COC)
· Communicate order status, shipment details, and any delays to customers
Customer Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication
· Resolve customer issues related to orders, pricing, and services
· Handle complaints with professionalism, empathy, and effective resolution
· Support customer retention through high-quality service
Sales & Cross-Functional Support
· Collaborate with Sales to support customer growth and retention
· Identify opportunities for additional product sales or service improvements
· Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless order execution
Production Planning & Scheduling
· Coordinate production schedules to align with customer demand
· Review and communicate production schedules daily
· Resolve backorders and supply challenges through proactive planning
Inventory & Systems Management
· Maintain accurate inventory control and reconciliation within Chempax
· Ensure integrity of ERP data
· Support warehouse and production teams with inventory accuracy
· Create, update, and maintain Bills of Material (BOM) within the ERP system to ensure accuracy and alignment with production requirements
· Identify and implement process improvements
Administrative & Operational Duties
· Manage shipping documentation, invoices, and order processing
· Coordinate samples, mail, packages, and trade show logistics
· Serve as point of contact for shipping and receiving teams
· Respond to phone calls and emails related to logistics and customer service
· Coordinate visitor access and safety procedures
· Participate in safety meetings and ensure compliance
· Perform other duties as assigned by management
Oversee KPIs
· Order accuracy and processing efficiency
· Customer satisfaction and retention
· ERP data accuracy and integrity
· On-time shipment performance
· Responsiveness to customer inquiries and issue resolution
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job include:
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred
· Experience in logistics, customer service, or manufacturing environment required
· Experience with ERP systems (Chempax preferred)
· Knowledge of chemical industry processes, including shipping documentation (SDS, COA, COC) preferred
· Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
· High attention to detail and accuracy
Working conditions
This job is performed in an office environment with regular interaction across logistics, production, and customer service teams.
Physical requirements
Physical demands are light, consisting primarily of sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to:
· Perform repetitive data entry tasks
· Use hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment
· Communicate clearly in verbal and written formats
