MACHINE OPERATOR

Pay: $19.50
Hours: 3rd Shift: 10:30pm – 7:00am (Training will be done on 1st shift for 1 month)

Objective/Purpose: 
Responsible for machine operation and product inspection. The person in this position works/communicates directly with machine technicians, material handlers, and quality control to assure product quality and on-time delivery. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Operate machine according to specifications
  • Monitor machine to ensure proper functionality
  • Perform periodic product inspection by utilizing measuring equipment such as; calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Follow ISO procedures for non-conforming parts
  • Interpret blueprints
  • Ensure proper material levels in the hoppers
  • Perform routine machine troubleshooting
  • Clear machine jams and obstructions
  • Verify quantity of parts
  • Label boxes and pallets
  • Report machine issues to the maintenance technician
  • Complete production logs/reports  
  • Adhere to safety protocols and follow polices and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Functions: 
  • This position requires to be in a stationary position for prolonged periods, however some tasks may require to occasionally move in different positions in tight and confined spaces
  • Frequently communicates with other associates to exchange information. 
  • Must be able to occasionally inspect products to detect defects by interpreting blueprints and utilizing measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Must be able to ensure the machine is running properly and be able to detect any machine or product abnormalities to be reported to the appropriate part.
  • Must be able to occasionally move pallets, boxes with products or components, machine parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to write information relating to production/product/quality into production logs  

Required Experience/Skills/Education
  • At least 1-year manufacturing experience as a machine operator
  • At least 1-year experience performing basic quality control procedures
  • Knowledge in utilizing measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers
  • Basic mathematical knowledge
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other production associates and supervisors
  • Must be at least 18 years old
