SENIOR FABRICATOR
Pay: $24
Location: Lombard, IL
Shift: 1st shift – 7:00am to 3:30pm
Position type: Temp To Hire

Assemble simple components, tooling fixtures and complex prototypes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and fabricate simple components and assemblies using aluminum, steel, plastics and composites according to work order and/or drawings.
Design and fabricate tooling fixtures and jigs for production.
Design and fabricate complex prototypes based upon concept sketches and specifications.
Document detail design changes by marking blueprints, drawings or routers (work orders).
Ensure that material levels remain at an acceptable level by maintaining material lists.
Apply rolled vinyl graphics and printed decals by operating a vinyl laminating machine or hand cutting and premasking or strip weeding and merging.
Cut raw material using saws and stomp shears.
Position parts according to knowledge of units being assembled or following blueprints.
Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners or adhesives.
Modify parts through the operation of saws, shears or by welding or removing small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
Cut wire, assemble harnesses and lamp track sub-assemblies, and wire signs.
Train custom fabricators and agency workers on proper equipment use and welding procedures.
Ensure that machines, equipment and tools remain in good working order by performing daily preventive maintenance, regular and consistent inspection and repair; completing checklists as needed.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Ability to identify common construction materials and shop equipment
Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, both internally and externally
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
Maintenance facility environment, may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise and exhaust fumes
Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs
May require working overtime as needed
Must have reliable transportation
May require use of respirator
Must be comfortable working at projected heights and narrow workspace
